In the last days of our vacation we had one more camping night planned.
After driving 16-hours from Oregon, we spent the day at home trying to get some rest. We also spent it unpacking the car, taking inventory, returning the rental car, picking up our car from the shop, and loading up our car with supplies. That night, we had a delicious dinner at BJ’s Brewhouse.
In the morning we were out the door again. We had food for a few meals and drove for only 3 hours. It all seemed so easy after a long two week road trip!
We had been to Red Rock many times before. If I remember correctly, we spent our first New Year’s together camping there. Here is a picture from that trip circa 2009 (I wanted to dig out a really embarrassing picture but they are all tucked away in a hard drive.)
When we arrived, the campground was quite full with the early weekend crowd. But we managed to get a great spot on the outer edge.
Once camp was set up, we took a walk to watch the sunset. The one thing I really missed while camping in the forests and redwoods was being able to watch sunsets. For that reason, the desert was a great choice for the last night of our road trip. The desert did not disappoint!
That night we toasted to our honeymoon with a glass of wine. We felt so grateful and happy. What a beautiful life. What a beautiful journey…
Thank you for joining us on our honeymoon travels! There is one last related blog post ahead. It will be the bookend to this series highlighting some of our favorite moments.
